The Seven Week Break

This summer. What a whirlwind! This has been the busiest summer of our life together! It seems like we had something planned or something would come up every weekend, and now I finally feel like I'm coming up for air. But then I remember that we're moving in 15 weeks. Hah.
So to recap our summer....
We hiked up 'R' mountain with Evelyn. Donny definitely carried her both ways!

We went camping in Swan Valley. Debatably the most beautiful place on earth. We pitched camp, and then went for a hike. On the way back, some ominous clouds rolled in and we walked the mile back to camp in pouring rain. Luckily, Evy was protected by her little sun shade, but we were drenched. It should have been a sign... Haha. Later that night Evelyn finally fell asleep, and we relaxed by the campfire. (Which took forever to start because our wood was soaked through) As we got into our sleeping bags, Donny instantly remembered that he volunteered to cover someone's shift at work the next day, well, the next morning at 5am. So we laughed at our sad little selves, packed up camp and got home at 2am. That was an adventure! Needless to say, everyone took a nap that day.

We celebrated Evelyn's first birthday! So surreal. She was spoiled! My mom was able to come into town for a few days and we had a blast! Evelyn was a little sad and confused when we had to drop grandma off at the airport.

This past weekend, we went to Jackson Hole, WY for my brother Kevin's cycling race. He did a great job! While he was riding, we went to the Grand Teton National park and went hiking around Jenny Lake, to the Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point. It was so beautiful! Our camera died before we got the top, so we just have mental pictures.

Along with all our adventures, we've been working our tails off. Donny has been doing about 40 hours a week, and I've been doing around 15. It's so difficult to juggle everything, and make sure that Evelyn is happy and taken care of. I was getting so worn down a little bit ago. It was just so much on my plate. I was pretty sick for several days, but I rested up and now I'm back at 100%. It just takes being sick to make you realize how wonderful it is to be healthy!!!

We did all that in 7 weeks. It's gone by so quickly, but its been so fun! I guess we're ready for the daily grind! Bring on the last semester!

And I can't get enough of Evy's face. Create your own caption.

Swan Vally, Falls Creek Falls, right before the downpour of rain!

Eating tacos at the park, and Evy LOVED the limes!!

Evy playing with her friend Sarah. They got along until they both wanted the same toy...

Donny and Evy at the zoo this past week. She could't get enough of the monkeys!

And the emus...

This picture will be used as blackmail in 15 years...
Evy was really hungry in the car on the way to Jackson....so she ate 12 ritz crackers (half of which ended up on the seats), 11 ounces of milk, and at least 2 cups of Pirate's Booty.
One Tubby Tubby.
